VERY friendly staff, spacious room with balcony, good beds and excellent shower. The latter was a godsend in the local heatwave we experienced.
The on-site restaurant has a wide range of choices, from strictly vegan to hardcore carnivore, so don’t think the ‘pizzeria’ sign indicates that that is all they do.
Loads of local ingredients and dishes, all served in portions large enough to satisfy even the most serious eater.
Ample choice at breakfast buffet, with local produce as well.
Logistically well equipped, with large private parking and shops, banks, key regional bus stops plus the train station all just a few hundred meters away.

Bohinj has stunning views of the surrounding mountains which are easily accessible via the gondola. The lake itself is crystal clear and great for swimming and water sports. The town is small but with a range of restaurants and a shop. It has all the facilities you need but without the throng of tourists that Lake Bled is constantly surrounded by.

Lake Bled is lovely but Lake Bohinj is perfect if you want a purer experience. The hike around the lake is about 12.5 km. There are lots of outdoor sports available and gorgeous views. You can taste delicious homemade food like different kinds of cottage cheese, and typical Slovene casserole dishes. The nature is beautiful, it doesn't mind if it's raining, snowy or sunny, you always can enjoy peaceful walk along the lake or through the forest. Everyone should visit Bohinj at least once in their lifetime!

The shower was a bit of a tight fit because there was a washing machine in the bathroom. However having a separate bathroom and toilet was very useful. Met by the host very promptly. He doesnt know much English so unless your Slovenian is good dont expect a conversation. No problem though. Make sure you visit Lake Bohinj - much better than Bled which is a tourist trap. We are absolutely stunned by the beautiful nature, and the excelent location of the apartment which is surrounded by the mountains from one side and the river on the other. Breakfast was excelent and we enjoyed some quite time with coffee and the tea by the fireplace inside the house. Sauna was a great addition to the whole experience.
